A Day of Firsts

| For the first time some of the children walked through central Middlesbrough in their Kurdish clothes …. For the first time the Nawroz Community took part in a Cultural Day with people from other communities living in Middlesbrough… For the first time we did some Kurdish dancing in Kurdish clothes in front of other people and shared Kurdish food with them… For the first time I found out that Pélé speaks Portuguese…and learnt my first Portuguese word ‘obrigada’ (thank-you). I will put some photographs in the gallery soon. Here is our Nawroz reporter to tell you about it. Hello, my name is Hezha. Well, on the 23rd February me and the Kurdish school went to a party. It was really good, we danced in Kurdish. The Kurdish people wore Kurdish clothes. After the dancing we had our dinner, well the food was nice. We tried all kinds of food. We tried Brazilian food, it was alright. After that we went on the computers and then we made jewellery. I made a bracelet. We had a competition, writing about different countries. Then we all went home. It was really cold. Me and some of my friends went home with a teacher. Well, that was the whole story, I hope you enjoyed it. By Hezha |
